Thanks for Donations!

To anyone who has donated to my paypal account, I’d just like to say thank you. You helped knock off $20 of my heater core that I need for my Cutlass… otherwise this would be an awful winter, what without heat in my car and all. So thank you all so much, in case you were wondering if that money went to drugs or not.

Also, I plan to upload two sets of tracks. Does anyone have any preferences as to which tracks they’d like to remix off of SM2?

Remix

I haven’t had much time to work on anything new, and I know this blog isn’t super huge or anything, but would anyone be interested in remixing a work of mine? Particularly off the most recent album (as I’m able to get the tracks easiest that way).

Any takers? Just for shits and giggles?

The Korg DS-10

So I waited since July for this little number to come out, but it just took forever. Finally I saw that it was coming out the 4th, it arrived at my house on the 6th. This little bastard is a cartridge that’s being sold for the Nintendo DS (an awesome system, I love Mario Kart). The unique thing about the DS is the touch screen and the level of ergonomic accessbility.

This program simulates a Korg MS-10 from 1978 and incorporates some slightly newer control functions from KORG like the Kaoss pad which creates somewhat randomized phrases within certain designated parameters. All in all, it is very cool, and while I haven’t found a specific niche for it yet, I’m sure it will come in handy somewhere along the line.

In the meantime, I recorded myself with the DS-10 onto my Zoom H4 which led as an audio i/o to my laptop. If you have a DS, hopefully this will motivate you to go out and buy it. It’s spectacular.

Audiosurf

So a few of you guys posted comments about how you heard me on Audiosurf. I had no idea what this was… I figured it was just another internet radio that got a hold of my stuff from Jamendo or somewhere else. Obviously, I’m incredibly wrong. I only took a look at the website and made contact with Dylan Fitterer, wondering if there were any videos people made of them playing to my tracks. Unfortunately there weren’t, so he bestowed upon me a complimentary press key and I began playing.

This blog is called My Advice, so take some of it:

BUY THIS FUCKING GAME.

Steam is currently having a 75% off sale for it, so it’s only $2.50 USD. I really suggest it, because it is completely awesome in every way. Anyone who heard my stuff on Audiosurf I’m sure can agree… and it’s not just because my shit was on the radio.

On a side note, thanks again to all you guys who posted on my last blog entry. In response to Caleb’s comment: Thanks for the video with Kanye and Daft Punk. It was kind of lame how they crammed them into that tiny pyramid and they were only up there for like 40 seconds, but it was still awesome. As for their approach to doing a live show, I can’t even tell you what that touch screen was called. I’ve never seen that before, but I would hope those guys are at the forefront of that stuff. Just add more keyboards basically. I don’t know.

I don’t know.

Thanks again!
